MAY 2021

The first wedding we hosted here at Stemster House was in fact our own!

As a newly engaged couple we started our wedding planning full of excitement, however it quickly became clear that there was a real lack of venue options within Caithness. Although to others it would have been obvious that we had the perfect option right on our doorstep it took the Covid 19 restrictions to make us realise that our gardens were the perfect setting for our lockdown wedding.

As our day came round it was uncertain if the sun would make an appearance which is unusual for late May, so we had to plan for all eventualities. Luckily the sun was shining as I walked down the custom made aisle on the top lawn, to meet my husband to be in front of the circular arbour.

The tree lined lawns gave a dramatic framing to our ceremony and the house a perfect backdrop.

PICTURE PERFECT

The gardens and grounds lend themselves perfectly to amazing photo opportunities, the best part being they are all close to the house so no long walks in heels and big dresses. Saying that I still swapped into my country boots to help speed things up!

As our family has lots of children, all the outdoor spaces were perfect for letting them run wild and free, yet we knew that they were so safe away from any traffic or other dangers.

Choosing to get married here at Stemster House gave us the opportunity to have the intimate and relaxed day we wanted for us and our guests.
